Our Rides

A group of cyclists at La Perouse, Sydney

Our weekly Sunday social rides have a focus on fun as we explore the beautiful or historic features of Sydney. We typically ride on dedicated cycle paths or quiet streets, perfect for a relaxed, social morning of activity.

Expect distances of between 20-40km and a pace of 15-20km/h with plenty of stops. Level of difficulty varies from beginner to intermediate, so check the ride calendar to find one that’s right for you.

A cyclist on a descent

One Saturday a month, we put on tougher rides, where you’ll need a road bike and a good level of fitness. We take on the classic road riding routes of Sydney such as West Head or Three Gorges.

These rides often involve hills and longer distances of 80-120km with a pace of around 25-28km/h. They are still social though, there’s always a coffee stop during the ride to refuel and catch up!

Two cyclists doing laps at Centennial Park, Sydney

On Friday mornings, you’ll find us putting in the laps at Centennial Park as part of our “Flyer” sessions.

Join us at 8:00 am at the bubbler on corner of Grand Drive and the Oxford St exit.

Six cyclists outside a music hall

Ocasionally we break out of Sydney! We escape for regional and overseas adventures, including our annual Easter weekend away trip, and European tour.

It’s not all about the bike, we also get together for the quarterly socials, nights at the pub or park barbequeues.

Who are Sydney Spokes?

We’re an inclusive LGBTQIA+ social cycling club that cherishes our diverse members and long history. Our focus is on bringing people together to foster new connections, while sharing our love of cycling. We fully support riders who are new or returning to the sport, while still offering opportunities for our advanced cyclists.
